Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup tamarind pulp
- 1/2 cup pitted dates, soaked in a cup of hot water
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 tsp pepper powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp jaggery
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder (optional)
- salt to taste
- Blend the dates along with the tamarind pulp and 1/2 cup water in the blender till you get a smooth paste.
- Transfer to a small pan and add the other 1/2 cup water,salt,pepper powder,jaggery,cumin powder and ginger powder.
- Cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil. Turn off heat and let it cool to room temperature.
